Why you’re involved with FWR: Being on the rowing team was the defining experience of my time at William & Mary. The friendships and memories made both on and off the water will stick with me no matter where I go. FWR is a great way to stay connected to the team and play a role in making sure that any student who wants to be a part of the team can be. It’s amazing to me to think about how far the team has come from boats lying on blocks in the grass to the incredible boathouse they have now. FWR has been a huge part of that, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do in the future as our alumni base continues to grow.

Best rowing memory: It’s hard to pick just one! My very first race was a photo-finish which we won by tenths of a second. The last race I ever coxed was a head race where the guys pulled their butts off and we outmaneuvered a bigger Maryland squad for a second place finish. But if I had to pick just one I’d go with winning SIRAs my sophomore year with the Women’s Varsity 4+. Despite being 6th off the line in the Grand Final we walked through all the other crews for the win. Crossing that finish line first was a feeling I’ll never forget, and looking over to see Rob Montague jumping for joy on the shore was pretty awesome as well.
